What is counseling?
"Counseling is a professional relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families, and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, and career goals." - American Counseling Association

At Acorn Counseling we provide outpatient individual counseling services. This means that you will sit down with a licensed counselor who will help you identify your needs in a safe space. Your counselor will help you develop a personalized plan. As counseling progresses, many people feel empowered as their symptoms or struggles reduce.
What is trauma?
Trauma refers to the symptoms people suffer after actual or perceived life-threatening or overwhelming experiences (anything that threatens a person's being, body, or life). Traumas can result from abuse (childhood, sexual, physical, emotional), war, car accidents, during violent or threatening crimes, and from natural disasters. Even hearing about these types of events happening to a loved one can result in trauma symptoms.

Even when trauma occurs in childhood, it shapes our experiences throughout our lives. Trauma can impact the way we think, feel, and experience ourselves and the world.
Fees depend on your health insurance plan coverage. Most clients owe a small co-pay per session. Although you are responsible for understanding your own coverage, we can provide an estimate of your co-pay once we have your insurance information.
We are Blue Cross Blue Shield providers. If we are not in-network, we can provide the information you will need for your insurer. We also offer services for those without insurance or who prefer self-pay.

Co-payments and self-payments are due after each session.
